From the moment you walk through the doors, you’ll know that The New Gospel Temple (TNGT) is a special place which has been dedicated to God. That’s because our emphasis is on gathering, connecting and building. As the song says, we all need somebody to lean on! When we can lean on no one else, we can lean on God because we can trust Him.

What We Believe

Our History in Brief

The Gospel Temple Legacy – It has been the spiritual spawning ground for numerous Bishops, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors & Teachers since its inception in 1949, up until this present day. Founded by “The World’s Wonder Preacher”, the late Bishop Benjamin H. Broadie (1949-1965), we have been blessed with great leaders: the late Elder Ceacer Gooding (1965-1969), the late Bishop Samuel Canion (1969-1988), the late Dr. Minnie Canion (1988-1996) and since 1996 has been led by Bishop Rodney S. Canion, who was the visionary & builder of The New Gospel Temple Church facility in The Bronx, NY (since 2008). God has always endowed this House of Worship with various gifts & talents: singers, musicians, praise dancers, worship leaders, poets & authors.
